Hello and welcome to Gymboree Taunton Oake !

Hello and welcome!  My name is Claudia and I run Gymboree in this area. As the mother of three young children I know how much they enjoy structured activities that combine music and movement in a fun and challenging environment.  I also remember how easy it was for myself and my little one to make new friends while we attended classes ourselves after moving to this area.

Classes offered

We currently offer “Baby Play” and “Play & Learn” classes for different age/ability groups in Creech St. Michael (Village Hall), Ilminster (Meeting House, Arts Centre), Oake (Village Hall) and Trull (Memorial Hall).

Family Music classes also take place in Trull, in the Pearce Suite of the Trull Memorial Hall.

All classes are teacher-led and last 45 minutes.

“Play & Learn” classes are split by development according to the following approximate groupings:

Level 1: Baby Play – pre-mobile babies (sensory exploration for babies, new songs and play activities for carers)

Level 2: approx 6-10 months (learning to move, climb, socialise)

Level 3: approx 10-16 months (learning to walk, balance, explore)

Level 4: approx 16-22 months (learning to problem-solve, interact, master physical challenges)

Level 5: approx 22-36 months (learning to engage in imaginative play, develop vocabulary)

Level 6: approx 2 1/2 – 4 years (learning to connect and express ideas through co-operative play and communication)

Family Music classes are for children aged 6 months to 4 years, so siblings can attend together. (explore different musical styles through songs, instruments, movement and props)

New Baby Play classes available by request for a minimum of 3 pre-mobile babies.

NEW VENUE IN CENTRAL TAUNTON from Tuesday 12 June 2012: St James Church Hall, St James Street, Taunton TA1 1JS.  Gymboree Play & Learn and Baby Play classes.

The Christmas Raffle and Gymboree Open Morning raised £71.09 for Gymboree’s chosen charity Great Ormond Street Hospital.  Many thanks to all who supported this in order to raise £10,000 by September 2012 for a Stockert EP Shuttle RF Generator to treat children with abnormal heart rhythms.
