Hello and welcome to Gymboree Surbiton !

We run award-winning and fun-filled classes for children 0-5 years, and are based in a gorgeous site in Nuffield Health Club in Surbiton. (You do not need to be a member of the club to attend Gymboree!)

Here at Gymboree Surbiton we have a full timetable of Classes and Open Play, with varied options so that you and your little one can make us part of your busy schedule.

We offer a FREE TRIAL for any of our classes. As the global leaders on developmentally appropriate physical and cognitive fun, we help to grow your little one’s body and mind!

Found at our site:

• Ample FREE car parking or we are only a 10 minute walk from Surbiton Station.
• Bus numbers 218, 471, 515, 515A(Sun only) stop outside the club. Get off at the BMW garage /Thames Marina bus stop.
• A buggy park
• A clean baby changing station so you won’t mind changing your baby’s nappy!
• Baby bouncers and a playpen so that you can go to the toilet or just put your shoes on without having to put your little one on the floor
• A potty if your child is toilet training
• Breastfeeding cushions and bottle warming facilities

The Importance of Play

Brand new government guidelines were released recently, which highlighted the importance of physical activity and play in young children’s early development. The report outlined the vital role of PLAY and MOVEMENT in early childhood, putting emphasis on encouraging children, particularly those that aren’t walking, to crawl, roll and play – physical activity is now  encouraged from birth, ‘particularly through floor-based play…in safe environments’. Meanwhile, children that are up on their feet are now recommended to have at least 3 hours of activity, spread throughout a day with periods of rest in-between.

As stated in the report, these kind of movements are ‘…provide valuable opportunities to build social and emotional bonds with parents, siblings and other children.’

Classes offered

We offer a range of classes throughout the week!

• Baby Play & Learn: for pre-mobile babies from newborn, with sensory play and exploration to aid crucial early development
• Play & Learn Classes: 6 months to 4 yrs growing young bodies and minds. Includes FAMILY CLASSES for adults with 1 or more children.
• Art Classes: 18 months to 5 yrs, encouraging creativity and self expression in your little one
• Music Classes: 6 months to 5yrs, developing expressive musical skills through singing, dancing, playing instruments and exploring musical styles from all over the world
• Drop off Theatre Arts Classes: 3 to 5 yrs, developing confidence, self expression and concentration with Drama, Singing, Dancing and Art.  Plus you get to enjoy watching your child in regular live performances!
• Gymboree School Skills (Pre-School): 2 hr Drop Off on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9.40-11.40. A great way to introduce your children to independence and prepare them with all the key skills needed for school. Sessions include some exciting science activities, messy art play, pre-writing skills and much much more !

FREE TRIAL classes must be pre-booked. Once you sign up to a class (£20 joining fee on the day) you automatically become a member of Gymboree Surbiton which entitles you to unlimited use of our Open Gym Sessions, free of charge, on the days we are open.

Make Ups

We have a ‘catch-up’ policy – any missed class can be made-up with an extra class to be taken within a month! Make-ups must be pre-booked and are subject to availability – please email or call to book in.

Siblings and Family Classes

We offer Family Classes all year round for children from 6 months to 5 years, so why not book for a Family class during half terms, and bring both of your children along for some fun? Alternately, non-member siblings may attend Gymboree as a spectator if they are young enough to be in a car seat or our play pen, or old enough that they can sit quietly at the edge of the room through the lesson.  Alternatively there is a creche within Nuffield; pre-booking essential. ADULTS MUST WEAR SOCKS TO CLASS AND CHILDREN SHOULD HAVE BARE FEET.

Birthday parties

We run fun-filled and completely tailor-made birthday parties on Saturday and Sundays in our site, as well as Parties on the Go – meaning we can come to your home or hired venue. Parties start at £150 and you can choose from a range of exciting themes! Let us help you have a stress-free and wonderful day to remember.
