At Gymboree Herne Hill our focus is on encouraging and nurturing your child in every aspect of their development, with you right by their side. We offer a variety of fun and creatively inspired classes including Gym and Play for newborns – 5 year olds.

We understand that everyone’s development is different, and the age ranges for the classes act as guides. When we hear from you we will ensure we find the right class for you and your child.

Birthday parties
We are pleased to offer a parties for your little ones and their friends either at our beautiful site or a venue of your choice. Led by one of our enthusiastic teachers, parties can be catered to your children’s age and interests and include songs, music, games and our famous parachute and bubbles! A very special welcome to our new teacher Elena! Elena has a background in psychodrama and is currently also teaching at “Archbishop’s Sumner” Primary School in Lambeth.
Gymboree On-The-Go is very excited to be arriving in Crystal Palace. Classes will be beginning Wednesday 23rd May, and will be running at The Living Water Satisfies Cafe, in the heart of CP. Please visit Gymboree Crystal Palace for more info.
The Importance of Play
Brand new government guidelines were recently released, which highlight the importance of physical activity and play in young children’s early development. The report outlines the vital role of PLAY and MOVEMENT in early childhood, putting emphasis on encouraging children, particularly those that aren’t walking, to crawl, roll and play. Physical activity is encouraged from birth, ‘particularly through floor-based play…in safe environments’. Meanwhile, children that are up on their feet are now recommended to have at least 3 hours of activity, spread throughout a day with periods of rest in-between.
As stated in the report, these kind of movements are ‘safe, accessible to all and enable unrestricted movement. They also provide valuable opportunities to build social and emotional bonds with parents, siblings and other children.’

Open Gym
You can visit Gymboree Clapham for Open Gym!
The sessions at Clapham are on Mondays at 9.30am and Fridays at 4pm. They consist of 45 minutes of free play and will cost £3/child. Grown ups go FREE.
